Guy (49 a\u00f1os), un m\u00e9dico que trata a pacientes de un brote de peste en Francia (1348) es teletransportado abruptamente a una especie de purgatorio. Guy inmediatamente se encuentra con otra persona en el mismo
situaci\u00f3n en la que se encuentra, la joven Setsuko (12 a\u00f1os), una japonesa que emigr\u00f3 a Brasil en 1918. Juntas descubren cosas en com\u00fan y tratan de comprender la situaci\u00f3n en la que se encuentran.
