About the university
The Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR) is a higher education institution located in the state of Paraná, Brazil. Founded in 1909, UTFPR’s mission is to promote teaching, research and extension, with emphasis on the areas of applied sciences and technology.
UTFPR offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses in engineering, technology, exact sciences, humanities and applied social sciences. The courses are recognized for their academic quality and the training of highly qualified professionals to meet the demands of the job market.
UTFPR also plays an important role in promoting scientific and technological research. The university develops research projects in partnership with companies, government agencies and national and international institutions, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and the development of innovative solutions.
Diversity and inclusion
The “Emíli@s – Armação em Bits” project is an extension initiative linked to the DAINF (Academic Department of Informatics) of UTFPR Curitiba. Its main objective is to promote actions that aim to increase the representation of women in the area of Computing.
The project is organized into three main areas: Workshops at Schools, Emílias Podcast and Events. In the workshops, mini-courses addressing topics related to Information Technology are offered, aimed at high school students and teachers, with the aim of awakening interest in these areas. The Emílias Podcast is dedicated to interviewing women who have trodden paths in the area of Information Technology. In addition, internal events are held, aimed at the UTFPR community, and external events.
