Diversity and inclusion
In the year 2021, the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) was recognized as the Brazilian institution most engaged with gender equality in Brazil, according to the Impact Rankings of Times Higher Education (THE). Among more than a thousand participating universities, UNIFESP ranked 89th worldwide. This classification was based on indicators that assess women’s participation in research production, as well as entering and completing undergraduate and graduate courses offered by the university.
The recognition obtained by UNIFESP reflects the institution’s commitment to promoting gender equality and providing equal opportunities for women in the academic field. Through inclusive initiatives and supportive policies, the university has worked to ensure women’s representation and participation at all levels of study and research.
