Women in Science: gender, equity and partnerships is a program that seeks to promote gender equality in the areas of science, technology, higher education and research institutions in Brazil.
Women in Science: gender, equity and partnerships is a program that seeks to promote gender equality in the areas of science, technology, higher education and research institutions in Brazil. The objective of the program is to develop specific skills in Brazilian institutions and influence the development of institutional policies and practices in favor of gender equity.
The project is funded by the British Council, in partnership with the University of Essex, United Kingdom, the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA), the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), the Federal University from São João Del-Rei (UFSJ) and from the University Center of Pará (CESUPA), in Brazil.
To publicize the activities carried out by the partner universities, a workshop will be held with two days of external presentations and another two days of internal work with Discussion and Work Groups. The workshop is an opportunity to share the ongoing research results in the area of Women & STEAM in Brazil and the UK, as well as promoting discussions on gender equity in higher education and research. The event is organized by the extension programs of UTFPR Curitiba.
