Aborda a evolu\u00e7\u00e3o tipol\u00f3gica dos teatros no mundo ocidental, com \u00eanfase nas configura\u00e7\u00f5es do edif\u00edcio como suporte para a encena\u00e7\u00e3o teatral, a partir de exemplos significativos de cada per\u00edodo. Estabelece liga\u00e7\u00e3o entre a produ\u00e7\u00e3o dram\u00e1tica e a participa\u00e7\u00e3o do espa\u00e7o arquitet\u00f4nico como facilitador do processo de percep\u00e7\u00e3o, considerando as propriedades geom\u00e9tricas do palco e sua interface com a audi\u00eancia. Discute os aspectos cenot\u00e9cnicos, ac\u00fasticos e \u00f3ticos como impositivos instrumentais de projeto do edif\u00edcio teatral e suas conseq\u00fc\u00eancias no resultado edificado.
